A single kiss ruined him.

How’s a rake supposed to please the ladies if he’s incapable of kissing anyone but her—Lady Charlotte Merriweather, the thorn in Quinton Chance, Viscount Noble’s backside. He should never have kissed her. But what else is a man to do when a beautiful woman cries? Now the one woman who makes him feel weak is the only woman he wants. And he promised his father on his deathbed to never show weakness. A proper society marriage will help him focus on his duties as a peer and banish Lottie’s kiss forever.

A single kiss awakened her heart.

Lottie has been in love with Quinton since he kissed her the day of her parents’ funeral. But he apologized and ran, and now all he gives her is smirks and snide remarks. That’s why she’s determined to forget him, to choose a husband from the many men courting her. But none of them kiss like Quinton, and when she discovers his barbs hide softer feelings for her, she knows she can’t give up. She’ll do her best to romance a rogue and prove loving is no weakness.

The Duke of Clearford’s Guide to Courtship will help Quinton woo a tepid bride, but Lottie will use it to romance her rogue. If these waring lovers can quit arguing long enough, perhaps they’ll see that happily ever after begins with a kiss.

Keep them Coming

I loved reading Charlotte and Quinton's story. Having been friends since childhood, Charlotte has been in love with Quinton since he kissed her. However, this scared Quinton, who distanced himself from Charlotte as a result. He is under the impression that his father wanted him to never show weakness. He believes Charlotte is his weakness. I loved the book and will definitely be recommending.

Love is patient

This is the second book in the series and we had met Lady Charlotte (Lotttie) in the first book. She had loved Quinton, her childhood friend forever, but after his father died and he became the Viscount, things between them changed. Quinton was under the influence if his father's best friend, that didn't believe in marrying for love, it showed weakness. Lottery being tge strong persistent person that she was, finally won her HEA. But getting to that point was one heck of a ride, very enjoyable reading. I received an advanced copy and I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Such a captivating story

Charlie Lane simply doesn't get it wrong with ANY of her books.

I was captivated from the beginning to the end.

They started as friends then they became enemies.

It all started with one kiss in the woods six years prior.

Chance had to shut his heart down when it came to love or anything that wasn't duty. And that includes the one woman who he can't stop thinking about kissing after six long years.

Charlotte knows what she wants and wants nothing less and she will go after what she wants even if it is a stubborn Viscount who says he has no interest in her whatsoever. And that she absolutely despises.

They both are determined to marry someone else however a scandal sets into motion where they end up getting married to one another despite how much they despise each other. But after another kiss after six years they awaken not only their passion for each other but that they can't fight how they feel for each other no matter how hard they try.

With the guide of a dog along the way they also realize love isn't a weakness its a strength to be found with the right person.

I received this as a free copy in exchange for a voluntary review from the publisher and this is purely based upon my own personal opinion and that of no one else.

Misguided By A Promise

I was definitely entertained by this story. It made me laugh, cry, and even occasionally want to strangle the hero. Friends from childhood, Charlotte and Quinton shared a kiss that for her was unforgettable and sealed the deep affection she had for Quinton. But because of a deathbed promise to his father, Quinton had to stay away from the only women that could bring him to his knees and make him weak (with desire). Charlotte tries to convince Quinton that love is a strength, not a weakness as his father claimed. Misguided and confused at first, finally Quinton realized that Charlotte was who he wanted and loving her would only make him stronger.

Love is strength, not weakness

This is the second installment in the series, A Gentleman's Guide to Courtship. Lottie and Quinton have known each other since childhood. She has always been in love with him. She can never forget the kiss they shared and knows in her heart that no one could ever take Quinton's place. That same kiss is also what keeps them apart. Quinton has been told that he cannot be weak and must take his duties seriously. Lottie is what makes him weak and he promised his father on his deathbed that he wouldn't give in to weakness. Although he keeps his promise and stays away from her, she still occupies a big part of his mind and his heart. It has come time for him to find a wife, and he makes the decision to marry for convenience and find someone that won't distract him from his duties. Lottie has spent all this time pining for Quinton, but it has come time for her to settle down as well. Her brother, the Duke of Clearford, warns her, if she doesn't find a husband on her own, he will do it for her. Quinton and Lottie both enter the marriage mart, and while Quinton is determined to marry anyone but her, Lottie is determined not to give up on Quinton and prove to him that love is strength, not weakness.
This was a wonderfully entertaining and enjoyable frenemies to more story and I had a lovely time reading it. The characters were well-crafted and fun and I enjoyed following their story. Looking forward to reading the next installment!
